Hello there and happy Friday to you! …It is Friday isn’t it?…*rambles off to check calendar*….yup it’s Friday 🙂 Fudge is here! Yay 🙂 He was so excited that he wanted to make a little video to say “Hi” to everyone. Ok that was me, I wanted to make a little video, and for my first ever video I am pretty happy with how it turned out 🙂
Fudge is made using the style of crochet known as amigurumi and he was inspired by a little bunny that has been running around my garden these past few weeks and generally injecting some much needed cuteness into my days. There were two criteria to meet when I set out to design Fudge; one was that I wanted it to be free and two; that I wanted it to be suitable for every crocheter, from novice to expert.
Once I began working on Fudge, he came together pretty quickly. The weather was glorious so I was able to spend most of my design time outside, something which has no doubt added to his cuteness 🙂 Here’s how Fudge came to life;
As you can see, Fudge started off life as some pretty rough sketches! Then he progressed (in the sunshine) to this;
I always like to grab some cheap Double Knit white yarn to work out the general shapes and construction first. With some further additions of arms and legs he eventually became something kinda resembling a bunny! After that it was time to type up my notes and set to work on the real deal….
And he is done 🙂 Of course one very vital part of any rabbit is it’s fluffy white tail, and Fudge is especially proud of his….
So there you go! That’s how I made Fudge 🙂 If you like the look of Fudge you can download a free pdf of the pattern by clicking on the “Download Now” button below, or you can go and read a little more about Fudge and what is needed to make him by clicking here!
