To Autumn

from “To Autumn” by John Keats.

“Where are the songs of Spring? Ay, where are they?
Think not of them, thou hast thy music too,β€”
While barred clouds bloom the soft-dying day,
And touch the stubble-plains with rosy hue;
Then in a wailful choir the small gnats mourn
Among the river sallows, borne aloft
Or sinking as the light wind lives or dies;
And full-grown lambs loud bleat from hilly bourn;
Hedge-crickets sing; and now with treble soft
The red-breast whistles from a garden-croft;
And gathering swallows twitter in the skies.”

On the Hook!

Howdy doody peeps, a very happy Wednesday to one and all πŸ™‚ It’s coming you know….Halloween…(I said Halloween in a scary voice, just so you know!) So this week I have been working on some cute crochet decorations to spook up your holiday this year πŸ™‚

Any guesses as to what it might be? Answers on a postcard please to… ah who am I kidding, it’s fairly obvious that it’s a pumpkin! I am fairly happy with the overall shape, but I now have to face my arch nemesisembroidery … dun dun dunnnnnnnn 😦 I don’t know why, but I always seem to find adding facial pieces to any amigurumi pieces the most difficult part and it’s usually where I mess up 😦 But where there’s a will and all that. So I will focus, I will take my time and I will adorn my crochet pumpkin with facial features, gosh darn it!Β  Who’s with me? O yeah, nobody because I haven’t published the pattern yet, d’oh.

Happy crocheting! See you next time!

It’s time to face it, the season is changing! Berries are ripening, squirrels are stocking up and my thoughts have been turning more and more to the cooler weather that is on it’s way. So this week I have been working on an infinity scarf that will be perfect for when those brisk autumn winds begin to blow! It’s in it’s very early stages, so stay tuned to see it’s progress πŸ™‚

Natural Inspiration from Attic24

Hey there and happy Monday to you πŸ™‚ One of the biggest things for anyone that creates is finding inspiration and motivation to do so. Sometimes inspiration can come in the most unexpected moments or items, and sometimes it can come without you really noticing, sneaky little thing πŸ™‚ There is however one constant source of inspiration for me, and that is the natural world. Whether it is the beautiful tones of an autumn leaf, the texture of an animals coat or the simple practicality of needing to wrap up warm against Mother Nature’s frequently changing moods, the natural world never fails to inspire, motivate and even sometimes overwhelm me with it’s beauty and elegance.

How to Double / Single Crochet!

Double CrochetHow do πŸ™‚ Happy Friday to y’all!
