Hello and Happy Monday to you πŸ™‚ Christmas is fast approaching, so today I have brought you courtesy of www.topcrochetpatterns.com a survival guide if you will, for receiving handmade gifts this festive season πŸ™‚

The big day has arrived, everyone’s settled round the Christmas tree and you’ve just handed cousin Marie a beautiful package containing a precious handmade blanket that you’ve spent months planning and preparing. She opens it slowly and pulls it out of the wrapping. Now, the moment that every crafter dreads…what will her reaction be? Below you’ll find the top 5 things that you should NEVER say after opening a handmade gift. Ever experienced any of these awful misdemeanours? You have our deepest sympathy, and we whole-heartedly recommend you restrict your giving of beautiful handmade items to people you know will truly appreciate it!

Monday Monday…

Plans….so good to me πŸ™‚ Hello and a very happy Monday to you! So, it’s been pretty quiet around here lately. In fact I think I just saw a tumbleweed roll past. But hey,Β  it’s time to roll back the covers, blow off the dust, etc. etc.

*Side note* It’s cold today, not cold cold, but still, cold, brrrrr. Continue reading

Linked Treble Crochet Tutorial

Hello! And Happy Monday to you πŸ™‚ So, do you like treble crochet? Do you like how quickly it works up and the structure it gives to a piece? Me too πŸ™‚ But you know what I don’t like about treble crochet? (double crochet if you’re in the U.S) The gaps! Oh gosh the gaps! It really takes away from a piece sometimes and makes it look so unprofessional.

But never fear for today I have the answer to our problems πŸ™‚ The answer comes via Deja Detmir from the wonderful Crochet Ever After. Deja has such a brilliant range of tutorials, but I was especially excited to find this one, because, well, as discussed previously…. the gaps! Oh gosh the gaps πŸ™‚

So take a look and prepare to banish those treble crochet gaps forever! Thank you Deja πŸ™‚

On the hook!

Howdy, happy Wednesday to you πŸ™‚ On my hook today is something verrrrrrryyy scarrrrryyyy…..ok, they are not that scary, well actually to my mind they are not scary at all, actually I think they are quite cute! πŸ™‚ Do you agree? Crochet Pumpkin Friends

On the Hook!

Howdy doody peeps, a very happy Wednesday to one and all πŸ™‚ It’s coming you know….Halloween…(I said Halloween in a scary voice, just so you know!) So this week I have been working on some cute crochet decorations to spook up your holiday this year πŸ™‚

Any guesses as to what it might be? Answers on a postcard please to… ah who am I kidding, it’s fairly obvious that it’s a pumpkin! I am fairly happy with the overall shape, but I now have to face my arch nemesisembroidery … dun dun dunnnnnnnn 😦 I don’t know why, but I always seem to find adding facial pieces to any amigurumi pieces the most difficult part and it’s usually where I mess up 😦 But where there’s a will and all that. So I will focus, I will take my time and I will adorn my crochet pumpkin with facial features, gosh darn it!Β  Who’s with me? O yeah, nobody because I haven’t published the pattern yet, d’oh.

Happy crocheting! See you next time!

Ready for his close up!

Gosh darn it, Unicorns are so vain, aren’t they? How vain are they? Well, they are so vain they probably think this song is about them πŸ™‚ (little musical reference there!) Nelson insisted on looking through all of the photos on my camera, just to see, and approve any shots of him! Unicorn’s eh?!
